CITY OF NEPTUNE BEACH JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Administrative Assistant (Planning) - PART TIME

DESCRIPTION
The City of Neptune Beach is seeking applications for a part-time Administrative Assistant. Under the direction of the Deputy City Manager/Planning Director. Performs responsible work in the review, processing, and issuance of construction permits; performs clerical work in a variety of office assistance tasks requiring qualified typing skills; performs related work as required. Also acts as Code Enforcement Administrative Assistant with the responsibility of resolving complaints and violations of the City's Code of Ordinances regarding building codes, which have been adopted by the city. The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of technical tasks related to the enforcement of the City's codes to achieve compliance through communication with the complainant, analyzing and interpreting the applicable code, investigating the complaint and determining the appropriate enforcement action and pursuing legal remedies through the code enforcement board when required.

Up to 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of general office/clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience working in the field of building and construction preferred but not required.

Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug tests, as required by the City of Neptune Beach. Have experience in dealing with the public.

Records Specialist (Police Department) - FULL TIME

DESCRIPTION
The City of Neptune Beach Police Department is seeking applications for Records Specialist. The Records Specialist is appointed by the Police Chief and reports directly to the Services Division Supervisor. The incumbent of this position performs responsible clerical duties; filing, researching records, data entry, and assisting the Services Division Supervisor with other related work. The speed and accuracy with which information flows though the communications section is a measure of the police department's capability to respond to the needs of the community.

Therefore, the incumbent may also serve as a relief communications officer and/or convey information from the public to the communications section who in turn informs the responding officers, other agencies, or for input into information storage and retrieval systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED. Ability to successfully complete entry level test. Ability to withstand a background investigation. Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug tests, as required by the City of Neptune Beach. Have experience in dealing with the public.

Emergency Communications Officer (Police Department) - Full Time

DESCRIPTION
The City of Neptune Beach Police Department is seeking applications for Emergency Communications Officer. The Emergency Communications Officer is appointed by the Police Chief and reports directly to the Services Division Supervisor. The position performs specialized work in areas of emergency communication; receives and responds to emergency and non-emergency calls by answering and responding to incoming telephone/911 lines, dispatching officers to calls, operating two-way/multi-channel radio equipment to obtain and relay information; maintaining various logs and files and performing related clerical administrative tasks. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with departmental procedures. Employees must exercise initiative and independent judgment to properly react and respond appropriately under very stressful conditions. Job requires stationary desk duties and shiftwork. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, audit of tapes, review of logs, and supervisory meetings to ensure compliance with policy and procedures and established standards. Works closely with the Services Division Supervisor and assists the Services Commander to further the Department’s goals and objectives.

CITY OF NEPTUNE BEACH JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Finance Director - FULL TIME

DESCRIPTION
The City of Neptune Beach is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Finance Director. The Finance Director is appointed by the City Manager and reports directly to the City Manager. This executive level position is an “At-Will” position that serves at the pleasure of the City Manager. The Finance Director is a key member of the City’s Leadership team; provides overall leadership and is responsible for performing a variety of complex supervisory, professional, administrative and technical accounting/finance functions in maintaining the City’s fiscal records/systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration plus five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in municipal finance administration and three (3) years in management of professional accounting/finance staff. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. Starting salary is dependent upon qualifications. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and thorough background check. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
