Job Announcement - Human Resources Generalist/City Clerk

CITY OF NEPTUNE BEACH JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST/CITY CLERK– FULL TIME

The City Council of the City of Neptune Beach is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist/City Clerk. Working knowledge of Florida’s Public Records and Government in the Sunshine laws along with advanced clerical and administrative experience required. A current State of Florida Certified Municipal Clerk designation is preferred, but not required. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field and three (3) years of experience in municipal government is preferred. An applicant may substitute four (4) years of experience in public administration or a related field of public or private service in lieu of a 4-year degree. The City Clerk is appointed and supervised by the City Council and serves as clerk to the City Council. Duties include preparation and maintenance of City records and files, maintenance and updating the City Code, monitoring Municipal elections, attending all regular and special meetings, preparing detailed minutes, preparing Council meeting agendas and performing other related work as required and directed by the Council. This position will also serve as the City’s Human Resources Manager performing the essential functions of human resources and generally reporting to the City Manager.
