ACCREDITATION TEAM INVITES PUBLIC COMMENTS ABOUT
NEPTUNE BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT COMMUNICATIONS CENTER
Neptune Beach: A team of assessors from the Florida Telecommunications Accreditation Commission (FLA-TAC) will arrive August 15, 2016 to examine all aspects of the Neptune Beach Police Department’s Communications Center. The Communications Center has to comply with approximately 116 standards in order to receive accredited status.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency members and the general public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. A copy of the standards is available through Neptune Beach Police Department’s Accreditation Manager at 270-2413.

The Accreditation Program Manager for the Neptune Beach Police Department is Samantha Jones. The assessors will review written policies and procedures; interview Communications Officers; observe the Communications Center and the work performed by the Communications Officers. The Assessment Team Leader is Ms. Mary Shiver from Polk County Sheriff’s Office and team member Ms. Karen Brasher from Cocoa Beach Police Department.
Once the Commission’s assessors complete their review of the agency Communications Center, they report back to the full Commission, which will then decide if the agency is to receive reaccredited status.
